St Andrews Village is a not-for-profit benevolent organisation with the Board of Management appointed by the Church of St Andrew. At the Village we provide a safe, caring and enjoyable independent living and residential care environment for older members of our community. With the recent completion of John Flynn House in 2009, we now have 176 residential rooms. We appreciate that moving into aged care is a major life event. That’s why our team of experienced and compassionate staff are ready to help you through each step of the process. For almost 20 years, we’ve been providing superior levels of aged care to our residents. Thanks for this goes to our care staff, who are highly experienced, caring and qualified. We’re sure you’ll agree after visiting St Andrews Village, that it is designed to feel like home. We welcome residents to invite their friends and family over whenever they like, and also like to see resident participation in any number of the regular, interesting and varied activities. We encourage residents to furnish their room with personal possessions. Each room has its own en-suite bathroom which is serviced regularly. RESPITE CARE We understand that caring for an elderly relative is rewarding but can be exhausting. St Andrews Village offers a number of respite beds, allowing you to take a well earned break whilst your relative in need of care can enter our facility on a short term basis. This is a service arranged through Carers ACT. AGEING IN PLACE We’re aware that your care needs may change over time. For this reason, the ageing in place model of care is used at St Andrews Village. This ensures that as your care needs change, in most cases, you can remain at the Village. This means that our staff, who know you and your medical history can continue your care. It and also means you can maintain the social connections you’ve made at St Andrews Village- removing the uncertainty of another late life move. PHILOSOPHY OF CARE St Andrews Village aims to provide superior care to each one of our residents. This is reflected in the day to day running of the Village and is continually used as a benchmark to ensure we are always doing the best we can. Residents are encouraged to use improvement logs to voice any concerns they might have. Improvement logs are treated confidentially and matters are dealt with in a timely manner. Both our board members and staff are dedicated to maintaining the St Andrews Village philosophy of care. This ensures the ongoing provision of high quality care with particular focus on resident dignity, respect and activity. We currently have a limited number of vacancies for permanent residents as well as and short term respite residents.
